Message So I've had the goose honk for as long as I can remember but I noticed recently that it has disappeared!? Not really sure when it went away either, as I haven't driven the car regularly or hard for a while.

If you've seen some of my recent posts, you know I was experiencing some lack of boost and boost gauge issues. Those turned out to be caused by a disconnected passenger side boost hose, which likely forgot to get reconnected when I replaced the power steering pump several months ago. The clamp was pretty crappy too, so it could have just slipped off. Dunno. The other issue was the boost gauge sensor hose needing to be moved from the normal vacuum tree spot to directly on the balance tube because I forgot to move it there when I removed my EGR and associated vacuum lines several months ago but left the EGR solenoid in place.

Would removing the EGR system have any thing to do with the honk going away?

When I was trying to diagnose these issues I became hyper vigilant about listening to the engine, and that's when I noticed the honk was gone when I would get on the gas. It hasn't come back even after I reconnected everything properly and my boost and gauge are working.

Does this indicate an issue with one of the recirculation valves and if so any way to test?

Any other areas I should be looking at? Could it have been caused by the boost hose being disconnected for a period of time when driving?

Should I even worry about it being gone?

I'm going to be installing a AVCR boost controller this winter and just want to make sure I've taken care of any potential issues before doing that. Thanks for any info.
